Gary Vaynerchuk is a douchebag

My rant is about Gary Vaynerchuk. Some people may know him as the social media entrepreneur who hosts a video wine blog. I'm not going to link to it because I don't want to give him any more coverage than he's making for himself already.

People flock to this guy for the power of his positive energy. What does this guy really sell? He sells himself under the guise of his video blog reviewing wine.

I find this guy to be one of the lowest forms of life on earth. He doesn't add any value to the world, tells people obvious things, and then markets himself off of it.

Nothing new. He just thinks he invented it all with regards to social media websites. What aggravates me the most is that people flock to him without realizing what it is. ITS ADVERTISING!!!!

People can easily sell their personality as quickly as they can sell a pair of pants. At least when you buy the pants you have something concrete.

Here's some advice: get up out of your chair, go out into the world, and make a difference in someone's life. Stop watching Gary Vaynerchuk.

Sorry for being late.
I have just been taken as an intern in a startup where the boss is a huge fan of this...thing that is Gary V.
Happy to see that I am not alone.

I just caught this - really late (7-8 years later?) and Gary V. is even more self-absorbed and more of a despicable douchebag than he was in 2009. Guys (and Women) like this are popping up all over social media, and now learning how to be the next GaryV is a not-so-cottage industry with tons of podcasts, YouTube videos, blogs, and even slots on traditional media. Another incredible self-absorbed douche is "Cliff Ravenscraft"- the "Podcast Answerman" who started out producing a somewhat valuable podcast ABOUT how-to make podcasts. In fact it piqued my curiosity about doing a podcast myself. Well... as these things always go, now "Mr Podcast" has split his shows into two, one of which is now the "Cliff Ravenscraft Show", where Mr. Ravenscraft actually believes his 6000 (whoopie) followers give a flying phuck about what he is doing on a daily basis. Along with that comes an equally obnoxious Snapchat broadcast and assorted YouTube videos. I wouldn't care, other than this guy REALLY annoys me. He has no real expertise in *anything* short of knowing how to hook cables up to a microphone mixer. And now come the usual plethora of "courses" and "bonuses" and other crap - all of which are designed to take advantage of the gullible and make their wallets considerably thinner while Mr. Podcast shuffles his kids around in his brand new minivan paid for by the "life coaching" that he performs while NOT producing anything of value and NOT holding down a regular day job. I wouldn't care other than there are at least another 10,000 assholez lining up behind this guy to find their own "niche content creation e-marketing passive income business" It really pisses me off. Thank you for listening.

Oh and PS - my sympathies and condolences to anyone -anyone - who thinks the charlatans who calls themselves "life coaches" could possibly improve their lives. If someone is that weak, that disorganized, and that unfocused that they would pay a complete phoney professional-level fees - then they deserve our sympathy. Because the truth is folks, I've known probably 100 "life coaches" and every single one of them was *at best* a hot mess themselves. Screwed up people in the throes of problems with their kids or their relationships... or hoarders themselves who were teaching others to "get organized".. or worse. Much worse in some cases - "life coaches" busted for the distribution of kiddie porn and the like. Bottom line, if you need professional help, hire someone with credentials. Psychologists, Lawyers, Architects, Professional Project Managers and the like can command $2-300/hr because they spent decades between school and internship. Or they had success managing cases or projects of mind-numbing complexity... or they made a ton of money in a real business...or SOMETHING. NOT because they christened themselves a "Life coach"and spawned a questionable podcast or blog. It's incredible, and by that I mean "without credibility". Another member of the completely unqualified Internet douchebag club is one Laura Roeder, a perky little bird who was a struggling "web designer" earning $25/hr one minute and starving on the mean streets of Chicago waiting for architect daddy to send her the next rent check... and less than a year later had reinvented herself as a "content marketing" (another bull$hit topical area) expert with speaking engagements all over the globe about making it online and blah blah blah. I've heard her speak - there is literally nothing between her ears and even though she now has a ton of employees, she is completely out of her wheelhouse trying to manage a business of any kind. She recently made a fool of herself trying to explain business 101 concepts of markup, margin, and profit to a crowd of 300 or so who paid $1500 each for a 2-day conference. Laura and some other know-nothing were espousing the "pay yourself first" business model which is basically "repurpose business revenue for your own use whether OR NOT your business is profitable. This is the modern edition of "Counting your Chickens Before they Hatch" - a methodology any farmer knows will land their operation in a foreclosure and bankruptcy auction faster than you can say "hard boiled". Even if "profit first" was ethical (which it is not) it is most certainly not LEGAL and would land any follower at best in a small claims civil case, and at worst first degree felony larceny charges for converting revenue needed to pay for the 'cost of goods sold' - the raw materials and labor of whatever it is you're selling... to your own use. GO on Laura - buy that sailboat before you've paid your staff's FICA withholdings or your bandwidth at the data center. I'll visit you in federal prison (NOT).

I saw him on Larry King, this guy is worse than Donald Trump! He's the personification of all that is wrong with the current era of social media narcissism. And his life philosophy is horrifying, e.g. life=winning/losing and this and only this exclusively. He said that he's not very educated. Well, he might benefit from reading a few philosophy books before espousing such a reductive, simplistic life philosophy. He repeatedly used the word control throughout which indicates extreme narcissistic tendencies, he actually tried to take control of the interview ffs. The guy reeks of insecurity, so he overcompensates through 'winning' and destroying all competition. There's a word for people like that, but I'll leave you fill it in with your imagination. His popularity baffles me, actually no, it bewilders me, confounds me. I regret the day I ever knew of this guy. How on earth are people so stupid, so blind, to think this person is anything other than human trash? Seriously? He's such an obvious charlatan. I thought Trump was an indictment of democracy and the human species in general, but I was wrong, Gary Vaynerchuk is a textbook case of how large multitudes of people are repeatedly fooled by sociopaths who happen to possess societally approved 'social skills' (obviously not though if you can see right through them for what they are, but no matter, we're talking about the general mass of humanity).
